Furley's not here

Furley's not here, originally uploaded by Louis the Pug.

That thing about sleep... spoke too soon.

Furley does not like cats. I think I overtrained him in that regard. Barking at cats... very positive, and very good. Barking at cats and howling at them everytime they move, no matter what time of night... hmmm... yeah, not so good. Furley was not happy at all, and it was because of that Tim threw on his flip flops and took him back to his house... news reports say that Furley slept like a baby and was all set to be picked up by his dog walker today for his usual romp around DC.

Soooo... no Furley this week. We totally had a great night, but I think he needs to rock a cat-free house for night time purposes.

Off to go to playgroup with Juan... it's HOT outside yo!

Furley's here

Furley's here, originally uploaded by Louis the Pug.

Furley and I made up the other day... basically I just told him what was what, and he could just deal with it, yo. Actually, I think he just actually forgot about our little altercation the other night... cool dog, just not the sharpest knife in the drawer if you know what I mean.

Anyways, he and I engaged in a spirited wrasslin' session tonight. You know... when he wasn't barkin' at Bonnard and Matisse. The kid's not used to cats. Come to think of it... neither am I.

I'm beat. Off to bed...

cruddy dog park no more?

The dogists at Mitchell Park are basically kicking us out. We're clean and nice, but they have issues with dogs. I have a theory that they probably got barked at once and wildly misinterpreted the kindly "hello" as "dude, I so want to bite you in the butt." We need translators to help with the next round of negotiations. Anyways, they sicked the Park Police on us, so we get the boot. Luckily, I'm not one to direct scorn and ridicule in my blog. I'm way bigger than that, yo.

Luckily, the DC Council is looking at making the cruddy dog park at 17th and S to become a full fledged cool dog park sometime soon!

I've been sleeping in bed with Juan at Casa Happy Pack... life is good!

the best laid plans of pugs and hounds

So, I was supposed to have a weekend of fun with my boy Furley, but I made the mistake of running directly into his cage and then licking his mom. Furley was displeased with this and got all in my face. He was like woof woof, growl, woof woof... so I was all burf burf - burf burf burf (I don't take kindly to people woofin' in my grill, even if it's my boy Furley). Anyways, we tried to hug it out, but it was pretty apparent that staying there was going to be an issue this weekend. Problem was, Kimberly and Tim were jetting down to South Florida for some business, and the place they were staying at had some dogist neighbors that woulda ratted me out. Soooo... an early morning phone call to my boy Juan, and I'm staying at Casa Happy Pack! I love Juan, as you know. He treats me so good that I decided to be a model for him for his new website.
Check out happypackdc.com - you might recognize a certain lovable pug on the front page! Like I always say... put me in your stuff. I move merchandise, yo!

summertime

The weather's been ridiculously hot until last night... we got one of those boomers that brings temperatures down to normal pug friendly numbers, so today with my walker Juan was waaaaaay better than normal.

By the way, if you're into walkers and you're in DC, you really need to get hooked up with Juan. He's super nice and leaves little notes for Tim and Kimberly when he comes back with me. Most them include my bathroom proclivities (which I think should be private, but whatevs) and how I fare in the waters of Rock Creek Park. If you want the hook up, email me at louisthepug -at- gmail -dot- com and I'll give you the scoop. Juan's the man, yo!

Because it's summer (note: I recognize it's not summer until later in the month, but when we hit triple digits, it's summer by my non-rotation of the earth around the sun standards!), Kimberly fed me some ice cream.... problem is I can't lick down. That may be amusing to you, but I find it to be problematic when I have ice cream on my bottom chin. Not cool.... not cool at all.

This is me chillin in the AC. Whoever invented AC... I tip my hat to you sir or madame... wherever you are!

By the way WOOHOOOOOOO WINGS!!! They'd never won the Cup in my lifetime... it's nice to finally see one, even though Tim says he's seen 4 of em in the last 11 years now. He's old.

Rainbound

Rainbound, originally uploaded by Louis the Pug.

it's stormin big time here in DC... And I'm not talking about that big meeting up near the zoo featuring delegate fights. Nope, it's raining cats and, um... More cats (heh). Now, I tend to be a bit picky about going outside under wet conditions nomatter how full my pug bladder gets... I call it rainbound. It's terribly clever.

Meanwhile, I wait for game 4 of the finals tonight. I was in rural WV last week .... It was very gilligans island there. No phone. Not a single luxury. Luckily we had a car with a radio that managed to get a signal from Cumberland, MD - an affiliate of the other team playing in the finals (the Pittsburgh penguins). So, tim and I listened to enemy radio coverage in the car. Thankfully we won both games (I say we because clearly I skate for the red wings). Game 3 shall not be mentioned... Game 4 will if there's a Detroit win. Stay tuned, yo.

Gotta go... Rain's let up and, um... I gotta "go" if you know what I mean...
